Chief Inspector, Delta State COREN  Engineering Regulations Monitoring (ERM) and Vice President of Nigeria Society of Engineers,  Engr Bemigho Ofoeyeno (FNSE), has advised property owners to avoid contracting quacks for their jobs.

Ofoeyeno gave the advise while speaking with our reporter in Asaba, Delta State.

Condemning the recent collapse of the nine storey building and the incessant collapse of buildings across the country, he ascribed it to been caused as a result of the use of sub standard materials and quackery.

Frowning at the poor quality of work done at the site, he advised property owners to always seek the services of engineers before commencement of project rather than engaging quackeries.

He advised them to always contact engineers guidance on their construction works, adding that design specification should be followed to avoid future occurrence.

While grieving over the death of the man who was working with the cement mixer who could not survive it, he extended condolence to the families of the affected victims.

He commended the swift action of the state government in sealing up the construction site, he was certain that they will be able to ascertain the cause of the collapse.
