The Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, (SMEDAN), Mr Charles Odii has frowned at the diversion of grants in Delta State to specific political party.
Odii made this known during his visit to Delta State capital, for the disbursement of grants to nano businessmen and women in Delta North.
According to the Director General of the federal agency, the grants are to enable the nano and micro business traders start and grow their businesses.
He said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration was one in which the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody.
The Director General of the agency said the financial empowerment which was devoid of corruption, was made available to the beneficiaries from across the senatorial districts to their individual bank accounts.
He advised government to help eradicate hunger by supporting small businesses in the state to strive so as not to cause anger, which he said could lead to violence.
He said that out of the 36 states slated for the financial empowerment, he had so far visited 14 states and that he will also visit others.
