Chairman, Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Onomen Briggs has expressed concerns over incessant vandalism and frequent attack on properties of public schools, charging community leaders, parents, guardians, and all well-meaning citizens to take ownership of school facilities within domains.

Briggs noted that the security and vigilance of the public properties are collective responsibilities, and urged communities to remain alert and report any suspicious activities around school premises to the appropriate authorities.

Briggs added that the Edo State Government, through relevant security agencies, was intensifying efforts to track down those responsible for the attacks to ensure that they face the full wrath of the law.

She further implored traditional rulers, local government chairpersons, and youth groups to collaborate with security agencies to safeguard educational facilities from further attacks.
