Delta State, Chairman of Non – indigene Association, Sir Bernard Agazuma has expressed displeasure in the recent clash between Hausa bike riders and task force officers in state.
Agazuma made this known while speaking with our reporter in Asaba, the state capital.
He said as a people that have received so much hospitality from the state government unlike other states across the country, they cease to indulge in anything that would cause chaos in the state.
Agazuma while assuring Deltans of peace in the state said, going forth thorough investigations would be made to ensure that no northerner engage in any dispute with the state government.
He added that since the incident, he has taken bold step to patrol alongside other arewa community leaders to search for persons perpetrating anarchy in the state.
According to him, the only way to resolve any conflict was to dialogue, hence the way they will go.
Frowning at the act, the Special Adviser to the state governor on youth mobilisation in non indigene, Mr Yusuf Musa, said the destruction of government properties by the bike riders was very wrong.
Musa said notifying the arewa leaders to express their grievance would have been a better option.
On his part, the Arewa Youth leader, Mr Salisu Garuba condemned the act, adding that he was not in any way in support of it.
Garuba however, assured Deltans of a peaceful coexistence as many of them had no other place to go than the state that had sheltered them and some of their fore fathers.
He said it was unfortunate that many of them were not Hausas but persons who were privileged to speak the language.
The Arewa Youth leader promised Deltans of taking bold steps to dish out the perpetrators of the act, as he would not be a party to whatever will bring trouble to the state
