The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has charged Local Government Chairmen to continue the work for the socio-economic transformation of the state.
Otti gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of 17 Local Government Chairmen elected officials at the state government house.
He said their task was to solve the basic problems that have bedevilled the people in the various communities for age. .
The state Independent Electoral commission (ABSIEC), had earlier conducted local government elections in the 17 Local Government Areas of the State which led to their successful emergence.
