…As 200 successful recruits emerged, proceed to Army training depot in Zaria, Osogbo

For the first time in the history of the Nigerian Army Regular Recruits Intake exercise, Delta State filled her quota allocation in the just concluded 89th RRI recruitment screening exercise held at Cenotaph Complex Asaba.

Director General of Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the disclosure on Friday in Asaba, assuring that the success recorded will be sustained.

He said 100 out of the 200 successful recruits of Delta State origin from across 25 local government areas arrived at the Nigerian Army Training Depot in Zaria, Kaduna State on Friday, while the second batch of 100 recruits are expected to depart Asaba next week for the Nigerian Army training facility at Osogbo in Osun State, under the supervision of Army Recruitment Officer, Lt Col Daniel Appah.

Oghenesivbe, thanked the Chief of Army Administration, Major General Lawrence Agha Fejokwu, for finding time out of his busy schedule to visit shortlisted candidates at the Cenotaph Complex Asaba, during the screening exercise, noting that his visit boosted their morals and helped to instill confidence and transparency in the process.

The Bureau Chief attributed the landmark achievement of the state to the unwavering commitment of governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who took decisive steps to ensure that Delta filled her quota allocations by constituting the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, and for mandating the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu to oversee the overall activities and performance of the committee.

He noted that the proactive steps taken by governor Oborevwori has finally paid off as the state government filled her quota in the 89th RRI Army Recruitment, assuring that the state committee would continue to do the needful to sustain its efforts in all military and paramilitary services recruitment exercise in the state.

The Bureau Chief commended the 89th RRI Recruitment Officer drafted to Delta State, Lt Col Daniel Appah, for doing an excellent job by ensuring that the best among equals emerged to fill the quota allocation to Delta State, while thanking Delta SSG Dr Kingsley Emu, for providing the much needed strong leadership and oversight function for the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary Services.

“For the first in history, Delta State filled her quota allocation in Nigerian Army Regular Recruits Intake, RRI, recruitment exercise. This is another remarkable achievements of governor Oborevwori administration.

“A total of 200 successful recruits emerged, out of which 100 arrived Zaria training depot on Friday, while the second batch of 100 recruits will proceed to the Osogbo training facility of the Nigerian Army next week.

“This achievement was as a result of governor Oborevwori’s deliberate efforts, strong leadership offered by Delta SSG, Dr Kingsley Emu; Committee Chairman, HC ThankGod Trakiriowei; Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Political and Security Services, Governor’s Office, Mr Chuks Aguoye, the State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, as well as members of the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary Services.

“As a committee, we shall continue to work very hard so as to sustain this remarkable success,” Oghenesivbe assured.
