Body of Elderly Woman Found in a Bus
An elderly woman has been found dead in a bush in Lagos, sparking concern among residents of the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the lifeless body of the woman was discovered early in the morning by passersby, who immediately alerted local authorities. The identity of the deceased had not been confirmed as of the time of filing this report.
A community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter, said deceased had attended a programme at The Joy of Christ Ministry, popularly known as Ayo Jesu Church, before the incident.
“The deceased is someone I know personally. Her daughter lives abroad. She had attended a church programme and stayed around the area for some days because of the activities at the church,” the source said.
“She later stayed with one of her relatives who lives close to the church. It was while she was returning home very early in the morning that she was reportedly attacked.”
Police officers later arrived at the scene and evacuated the body to a nearby mortuary for further examination.
