Several top government officials have resigned from their positions in an All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled state, sparking political interest ahead of forthcoming party activities and electoral processes.
Among those who stepped down are a serving commissioner and the Chief of Staff to the governor, alongside other senior political appointees.
Edo State Water Resources Commissioner, Washington Osifo resigns from Governor Monday Okpebholo’s cabinet, Deputy Chief of Staff, Plus Alile also resigns to pursue elective positions.
Although official reasons for their resignations were not immediately disclosed, sources within the government indicated that the move may be connected to their political ambitions.
