Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest at the age of 84 following an emotional funeral service held at This Present House in Lekki, Lagos.
Jacobs, who died after battling dementia with Lewy bodies, was honoured during the ceremony with tributes from family, colleagues and dignitaries. Singer Darey Art Alade performed “Pray for Me,” a song featuring Jacobs and his wife, actress Joke Silva, while their son, Olugbenga, presented his father’s biography.
Several Nollywood stars, including Ruth Kadiri and Stephanie Okereke Linus, attended the ceremony alongside dignitaries such as Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
Guests wore green outfits selected by the family as they celebrated Jacobs’ remarkable legacy as one of the pioneers and mentors of Nigeria’s theatre, television and film industries.
