The Delta State Commissioner for Housing and Youth Development, Hon. Godknows Angele, has commended the Odimodi Federated Community in Burutu Local Government Area for conducting a peaceful community election.
Hon. Angele gave the commendation on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, while serving as Chairman of the occasion during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairman and executive members of the community.

He noted that since his tenure as Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, the Odimodi Federated Community has consistently maintained a tradition of peaceful elections and swearing-in ceremonies. He expressed delight that the community has continued to uphold that culture of peace.

The Commissioner urged other communities across the state to emulate Odimodi’s peaceful electoral process, describing it as a reflection of the leadership style and good governance of the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to him, communities that embrace peace before, during, and after elections are more likely to attract meaningful infrastructural development and government attention.

In the same vein, Rt. Hon. Julius Gbabojor Pondi, Member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, also commended the community for its peaceful disposition.
He encouraged residents to continue fostering unity and harmony while charging the newly sworn-in executives not to betray the confidence reposed in them by the people.
The ceremony attracted the royal Father’s and dignitaries from within and outside the community. The event was further enlivened by a captivating musical performance from Barrister Smooth Official, whose electrifying display thrilled spectators and added colour to the celebration.
