Hoodlums allegedly attacked a Nigerian Army officer and his wife in the Itire area of Lagos State after blocking their vehicle and dispossessing them of N300,000.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this during a press briefing on the operational achievements recorded by the command in October 2026.
According to the police, the incident occurred on October 4 when the hoodlums reportedly blocked the officer’s vehicle, assaulted him and his wife, stole N300,000 from them and vandalised their vehicle.
Following the attack, police operatives arrested Muhammad Garuba Alabi, who was identified as an alleged leader of the gang, in connection with the incident.
The police said Alabi had allegedly confessed to the offense, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who escaped from the scene.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
