Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Kelly Kalanama Penawou has promised to consolidate on the agenda of the Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Penawou made the promise while speaking with our reporter shortly after his inauguration by the governor at the government house in Asaba.
He said given the mandate to the affairs of the local government Chairmen in the state, he would drive the MORE agenda of the governor effectively.
He urged Deltans to expect more from the governor who has come to deliver on his promises.
Penawou said the councils though independent would key into the realistic reforms of the state governor, adding that there would be synergy between the local and state governments.
Earlier, Oborevwori urged him as a grassroots politician of immense stature with extensive experience in local government administration to live up to expectation in the discharge of his duty.
He said he expects nothing but excellence and exemplary performance from Penawou, having served as Special Adviser on Local Government Affairs in the immediate past administration.
He charged the Commissioners who were sworn in to lead by example by being role models in their respective ministries.
