The Coordinator of the Tinubu Torchbearers Initiative (TTBI), Delta State Chapter, Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude, PhD, has commended the wife of Governor of Delta State and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for expanding the Foundation’s free Autism and Special Needs Medical Outreach to the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency.
Describing the initiative as a shining example of compassionate leadership and people-centred service, Dame Princess Minnie stated that the outreach reflects the humanitarian values embedded in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the MORE Agenda of the Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. According to her, these complementary governance philosophies continue to inspire programmes that prioritise the welfare, inclusion, and dignity of ordinary Nigerians, especially the most vulnerable members of society.
She noted that the Foundation’s intervention, which provided free medical consultations, medications, wheelchairs, educational and physiotherapy materials, food items, and other assistive devices for children living with autism and other developmental conditions, has brought relief, renewed hope, and encouragement to many families who have long struggled with the emotional, psychological, and financial challenges of caring for children with special needs.
Dame Princess Minnie further emphasised that beyond the medical support, the initiative is helping to increase public awareness about autism, reduce stigma and discrimination, and promote greater acceptance, inclusion, and equal opportunities for children living with autism and other developmental disabilities.
She described Her Excellency, Deaconess Oborevwori, as a compassionate mother, a champion of humanity, and a selfless philanthropist whose unwavering commitment to serving the less privileged continues to restore hope, put smiles on the faces of countless families, promote unity and love, and transform disability into ability through purposeful empowerment and inclusive care. She noted that her humanitarian interventions continue to strengthen the confidence of families across Delta State and inspire hope for a more caring and inclusive society.
She further stated that sustainable development can only be achieved when governments, private organisations, faith-based institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, and compassionate citizens work together to improve the lives of vulnerable people. She therefore called on corporate organisations, philanthropic foundations, non-governmental organisations, community leaders, religious bodies, and well-meaning individuals to partner with and emulate the outstanding humanitarian example being demonstrated through the You Matter Charity Foundation.
According to her, investing in the wellbeing of children with special needs is an investment in a healthier, more inclusive, and more prosperous society. She stressed that no child should be denied access to quality healthcare, education, rehabilitation services, or the opportunity to realise his or her God-given potential because of disability or financial constraints.
Dame Princess Minnie also encouraged Deltans and Nigerians to continue supporting policies and programmes that promote inclusive healthcare, quality education, social protection, and community development, noting that such collective efforts are in line with the aspirations of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
She prayed that Almighty God would continue to bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, and Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, with divine wisdom, sound health, strength, protection, and abundant grace as they remain steadfast in advancing good governance, expanding opportunities, promoting social inclusion, and improving the quality of life of Nigerians.
While emphasising on the bible book of Psalm chapter 41 verse 1 which says, “Blessed is the one who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble”, she urged every Nigerian to embrace compassion, kindness, and collective responsibility towards persons living with disabilities, reminding the public that building an inclusive society is a shared responsibility that requires the support of government, communities, families, and the private sector
