Jubilation As Rister Clinches APC Aniocha South Assembly Ticket

 

One time aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State,  Prince Rister Agbabumeze Izedunor, has emerged winner in the House of Assembly primary election.

 

The election which was peacefully conducted by the returning officer, Hon. William Deniran and supervised by Mr Felix Moses had 54 delegates accredited out of the 55 registered delegates.

 

Prince Rister who polled a total number of 49 votes, during the election which held at the Party’s Secretariat in Ogwashi- Uku left his opponent, Dr. Stanley Afamefune Okafor, with only five votes.

 

The declaration of the result, by the returning Officer, led to so much jubilation as party members, could not hide their joy but rejoiced with the House of Assembly flag bearer.

Ned Nwoko Congratulates PDP Governorship Flagbearer, Oborevwori

 

… Oborevwori Has All It Takes To Lead

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Delta North Senatorial candidate, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his  emergence as  PDP Governorship flag bearer.

 

Prince Nwoko who was elated at the landslide victory of Oborevwori, also commended other aspirants for their courage to go through the primary election.

 

He further assured that PDP having made the best decision to choose Oborevwori as it’s  gubernatorial bearer would go all out to defeat  challengers at the 2023 general  election.

 

Nwoko  noted  that Oborevwori has the energy and  experience to excel and called  on all  Deltans to enthrone him as governor in the governorship polls for continuity of good governance and inclusive development.

Oborevwori Victory Well Deserved, Says Otirhue

 

Chairman,Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Dcn Joseph Otirhue has described Rt. Hon. Chief (Elder) Sheriff Francis  Oborevwori’s gubernatorial victory as a well deserved one.

 

This was made known in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman to our reporter in Asaba, the state capital.

 

He stated that as the incumbent Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Oborevwori had set the pace for spectacular human and capital development in almost seven years of his stewardship in a robust deliberation in the House.

 

While congratulating Oborevwori on behalf of members and staff of the Commission, he said it was their hope and prayers that God Almighty sees him through during the forth coming general elections.

HON. ENGR. EMEKA EMMANUEL NWAOBI: THE MAN THAT SAW TOMORROW

 

Ahead of the just concluded election, the member representing Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi had earlier admonished his colleagues to queue behind the Speaker in his electoral bid.

 

While addressing members of the Assembly during a plenary on the 25th of January 2022, Nwaobi enjoined them to support Mr. Speaker in becoming the next Governor of Delta State.

 

He said he was optimistic that Mr. Speaker would be the next Governor.

 

He also called on Deltans to support Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, so that he can continue from where the state governor, Sen. Okowa will stop in 2023.

 

Indeed his prediction of the Speaker’s victory turned out a reality, when he won the ticket for the state under the People’s Democratic Party.

Speaker Picks Governorship Ticket

Delta State Speaker, in the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has won the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2023 election.

 

Declaring him winner of the election, which took place at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State the electoral Officer, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu announced  Oborevwori winner and governorship candidate for the state under the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

 

The election which was peacefully had the winner, defeat thirteen other aspirants who were earlier cleared with him with 590 votes.

Delta Governorship Primaries: PDP Accredits 823 Delegates

As Delta State prepares to usher in the flagbearer for the 2023 general election under the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), 823 delegates  have been accredited an are currently voting in the primary election.

Revealing this, during the primary election of the Party, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the state capital, the national electoral officer, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu said the delegates were drawn from the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.

 

He urged the delegate to carefully thumbprint for the aspirant of their choice, adding that fourteen Gubernatorial aspirants were cleared by the Party at the national level.

 

While commending the delegates for their peaceful disposition in the previous primary elections held across the Local Government Areas, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Monday Udom-Tom, charged them to continue in the same light.

 

He urged all aspirants to join hands with whoever emerges winner at the end of the exercise to move the state forward.

Delta LGSC Upgrades Workers Prowess

In a bid to  refresh and upgrade workers’ prowess for effective discharge of their duties in their various stations, The Delta State Local Government Service Commission have trained 75 Budget officers.

 

The  Local Government Service Commission in collaboration with Harlov Services has organised a two-day training workshop  for Budget officers of the Unified Local Government Service of Delta State, at the Conference Hall, Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat, Asaba.

 

The Chairman of the Commission, Hon.(Dcn) Joseph Otirhue who was represented by the Commission’s first member, Pst Chukwuka Greatman, said, the Commission aims to keep the mandate of building an effective workforce to meet with the expected objectives of the third tier of government.

 

Speaking, the Chairman said, the Commission intends to expose its workforce to the new trends emerging in the world, in order to keep them in line with contemporary work techniques and ethics.

 

According to him, the seminar with the theme, ‘Administrative /Political Issues Affecting Budget Implementation’, was carefully selected and designed to bring the Budget and Planning Officers in the Local Government up to date, on how to manage the meagre resources available to each Council as there has been a downturn in funding available to the third tier of government in recent times.

 

The Commission’s Chairman, implored participants to make good use of the opportunity to interact and give the best to their Local Government Areas.

 

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr  Donatus Chime commended the Commission for the training and promised to practice what they have learnt.

 

Some of the lectures taken by well grounded resource persons, in the training workshop amongst others are, Analysis of Budget/Budgeting Process in the Public Service, Budget Implementation And Control and The Problem of Budget Implementation In the Public Service.

DELTA NORTH ‘LL BE ENVY OF OTHER SENATORIAL DISTRICTS, SAYS NED NWOKO

 

The candidate of the PDP for the Delta North Senate, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has assured his people of national visibility that would lead to being the envy of other senatorial districts at the National Assembly.

Nwoko gave the assurance while speaking with pressmen, in Asaba, the state capital immediately after the primary election.

He said he would ensure that every part of the senatorial district was well represented at the National Assembly, adding that he would work for the good and benefit of his people.

While assuring them of quality representation, he said based on the solid confidence reposed in him, at the primary election which held at the Cenotaph, Asaba, he would ensure it turned out as a new dawn for Delta North.

Dedicating his victory to God Almighty, the Party and the people of Anioma, he commended the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for his tremendous goodwill and support towards his emergence as the Party candidate for the senatorial position.

He said with the support of the governor he would propagate the Anioma agenda, unity and progress of the state towards a sustained socioeconomic transformation of the communities and people.

Nwoko also commended his opponent, Mr Paul Osaji for his show of patriotism and love towards the service of the people.
