The Director General, Delta State Bureau of Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has called for collaboration with Journalists in Delta State.
Oghenesivbe made the call dung a media parley with members of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Asaba.
He expressed willingness to partner with members of the fourth estate of the realm in sharing ideas, concerns and pains in the line of duty, whenever the need arises.
He however commended them for the role the play in the discharge of their duties, adding that the state government was impressed with their performance.


While appealing to some Journalists who are quick to publish reports concerning government activities, he urged them to always crosscheck those facts with the state Commissioner for Information, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor or other Information Managers before publishing.
He noted that government was not against criticisms, especially from the media, and suggested that such criticisms must be based on verifiable facts and constructive.
Speaking the union state Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Comrade Oyowe assured him of the readiness of the state Journalists to partner with the Bureau in driving its programmes.
Oyowe urged the Director General to carry members of the union along in the scheme of things.
