The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC) Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam has promised to partner with the Women Leadership of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in the empowerment of women through pilgrimage.
He disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday, January 20, 2024 while playing host to the National Women Leader of APC, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile.
His words,” we are so happy to collaborate and work with you”. He stated that the Commission’s pilgrimage to Rome and Greece would commence next month and that most states had indicated interest to sponsor Christians in their states to enable them participate in the Rome and Greece main pilgrimage exercise.
Rev. Pam advised the APC National Women Leader to also reach out to the state Governors on the sponsorship of women on pilgrimage to Rome and Greece.
He thanked her for considering it worthy to partner NCPC in the empowerment of women through pilgrimage.
The NCPC Boss capitalized on the visit to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for his support. According to him, “Mr. President has greatly shown that he is together with us, he has given us support since his assumption of office”.
The NCPC boss further affirmed, “we are very happy; I believe we can collaborate and work with you”. He added, “we really appreciate your office; I pray that God will see you through, “he said.
Earlier, the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile informed the NCPC Boss that she assumed office about 100 days ago and that her office oversees APC women across the 36 states of the federation, including FCT. She further explained that her office had embarked on familiarization tour of Agencies to chart a new course for women through empowerment.
She hinted that her office is liaising with the Governors of the APC for Hajj pilgrimage hence her visit to NCPC to further seek the same partnership for the empowerment of Christian women in the Commission’s pilgrimage programme.
According to her, “I want to see how your office can support Christian women, we want to be included in that plan in order to reduce the plight of the women and see how they can benefit’’.
