Chairman, Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Dcn Joseph Otirhue has assured Deltans of working in line with the MORE agenda of the state governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, by doing more meaningful development in human capital development as it concerns the Commission.

Otirhue gave the assurance while speaking with our reporter at his office in Asaba, the state capital.

He promised to ensure the continuity on the training of staff of they unified local government service as had always been done in his past administration, so as to enhance more knowledge in the running of the local government system at the grassroot level.

He said, there would be no going back on the training and retraining of staff, as it is an established policy that they would be trained continually to encourage their performance in their various discipline, hence no stone would be left unturned.

While  thanking God for his reappointment as Chairman, he also said the Commission have been position in a very stable manner for the past four years where policy implementation rules and skills of services have become the order of the day without any compromise.

“My reapportionment is to do more for the local governments in the state, and to ensure that the local governments services are improved to support the upward movement and performance that makes Delta State local governments one of the best in the country’, he said.

According to him,  “there have been a lot of reforms in the Commission and everybody knows that, even across the twenty five local government that things are no longer done the old ways that they where usually done”.

The Chairman while speaking on discipline, said there would be zero tolerance to indiscipline and that there would also be practical steps to doing things the way they should be.

Adding that the era of not going to work will be a thing of the past, as he would not hesitate to apply the rule on sanction to those who defaults.
