Reports surrounding the alleged death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo have sparked widespread grief across the Nigerian entertainment industry, with fans, colleagues, and movie stakeholders expressing shock and paying tribute to the actor on social media.
Former Big Brother Naija housemate and Actors Guild of Nigeria communications director, Boma Akpore, reportedly confirmed the development on Tuesday, stating that the actor’s remains had been taken to Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi.
Several celebrities have since shared emotional messages in honour of the actor. Actress Funke Akindele reflected on their close relationship and the affectionate nickname “Ore mi” that Ekubo often used for her.
Other notable figures in the industry, including Bolanle Ninalowo, Peter Okoye, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Omoni Oboli, Mo Abudu, Kate Henshaw, Yvonne Jegede, Kunle Remi, and Ruth Kadiri, have also joined in mourning the actor.
As tributes continue to pour in, the Nollywood community remains united in sorrow while reflecting on Alexx Ekubo’s contributions and lasting influence on the Nigerian movie industry
