The President of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Asaba Branch, Olorogun Dr. Austin Akpede has described the Supreme Court ruling on the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as a confirmation of the perfect will of God and of the irrefutable choice of Delta people.
Olorogun Akpede made this known in a congratulatory message, on behalf of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Asaba Branch to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff F O Oborevwori; Her Excellency, the first lady, Deaconess Mrs Tobore Oborevwori; the Government and people of Delta State; on the confirmation of electoral victory at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He said “the victory also reinforces the confidence our people have in the judiciary”.
He added, “it was a good development for the advancement of democracy in our nation Nigeria and Africa at large as it goes a long way to pattern true democracy for other African nations.
According to him, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a model of transparent, accountable, competent and committed leadership, which is the kind of leadership people crave for world over, adding that this kind of leadership and victory shows that in the March 2023 elections, Deltans over whelmingly voted for him.
Akpede advised that It was time for the people of Delta state from all political parties and all ethnic subgroups to rise up and support our God-ordained Governor.
