….affirms both candidates understand President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori’s policies and programmes.
The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications and National Publicity Secretary of the Ethiope Federal Constituency APC Forum, Olorogun Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., has congratulated the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, and Mr. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for Ethiope East and Abraka State Constituencies, respectively, describing their candidacies as well deserved and a clear demonstration that the party has put square pegs in square holes.
Oghenesivbe said the emergence of the two candidates followed the party’s primary elections and reflects the confidence reposed in their leadership capacity, grassroots acceptability, political experience and commitment to the development of Ethiope East Local Government Area and Delta State at large.
He called on party members, leaders and supporters across the two constituencies to unite behind the candidates and work collectively for a decisive victory at the polls, stressing that their emergence provides an opportunity for the APC to deepen effective representation and strengthen the connection between the people of Ethiope East and the development programmes of the Federal and Delta State Governments.
The Bureau Chief affirmed that both men understand the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and are well positioned to translate these broad development visions into meaningful constituency engagement and people-centred initiatives.
Oghenesivbe described Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo as a tested and accomplished political leader whose extensive experience in governance and party administration has prepared him adequately for the responsibility of representing the eight wards that now constitute the Ethiope East State Constituency, noting that, as Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, he has demonstrated legislative capacity, leadership maturity and a firm understanding of the workings of government.
He equally described Mr. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe as a grassroots politician and experienced party administrator whose emergence as the APC candidate for Abraka State Constituency is a fitting recognition of his years of service to the party and the people, pointing out that his experience as Acting Chairman of the Delta State Waste Management Board, State Assistant Organising Secretary of the APC, and more than two decades of involvement in mass mobilisation and party structure management in Ethiope East have equipped him with the organisational skills, political understanding and grassroots network required for effective representation.
The APC chieftain said the two candidates bring complementary strengths to the electoral contest, stressing that their political experience, accessibility, grassroots relationships and understanding of government policies place them in a strong position to earn the confidence of the electorate. He expressed confidence that their campaigns would be anchored on issues, development, inclusive representation and the collective interests of the people.
Oghenesivbe further noted that the new political configuration in Ethiope East, following the creation of Abraka State Constituency from Wards 1, 2 and 3, makes it imperative for the constituencies to have representatives who understand their peculiar needs and can effectively interface with government at both state and federal levels. He said the remaining eight wards, comprising Agbon 1 and Agbon 2 of Agbon Kingdom, equally require experienced legislative representation capable of advancing the interests and aspirations of the people.
He urged the electorate in both constituencies to support the APC candidates and embrace a new phase of purposeful representation, inclusive leadership and sustainable development. According to him, Rt. Hon. Akpowowo and Mr. Erhimedafe possess the political maturity, institutional understanding and grassroots networks required to provide effective representation and attract meaningful government attention to their respective constituencies.
“Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo and Mr. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe are eminently qualified for the responsibilities before them. Their emergence is a victory for competence, experience, grassroots connection and party loyalty. The APC has, in this instance, demonstrated the wisdom of placing square pegs in square holes.
“I congratulate both candidates and wish them a successful campaign. We are confident that their experience, political goodwill and commitment to the people will translate into victory for the APC and, ultimately, into stronger, more effective and development-oriented representation for the people of Ethiope East and Abraka State Constituencies,” Oghenesivbe stated.
