The Wife of the Olu of Warri, Her Royal Highness, Olori Atuwatse III, has provided free medical services to the people of Warri Kingdom.
The three days wuwu ore 6.0 medical outreach took place at the Cottage Hospital, Upper Erejuwa, in Warri South Local Government Area.
The event which was organised in collaboration with Safari Pharmacy and Laboratory had many beneficiaries of the Queen’s gesture in attendance.
Speaking with our reporter during the medical outreach, The Head of strategy for the Royal Iwere Foundation, Mr. Joshua Eze said the Royal Iwere Foundation, owned by His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III and Her Royal Majesty Olori Atuwatse III had impacted lives in the past.
He said the Wuwu ore Initiative was one of the arms of the foundation that seeks to meet the health care needs of the people in the society, adding that it seeks to bridge the gap of the health care need in Warri kingdom.
He said the three days medical outreach provided health care service to thousands of persons.
He said the Safari pharmacy had graciously collaborated with the Royal Foundation coming here to dispense the right kind of drugs to people, right? We have different drugs for different ailments right here on ground.
He said the gesture was not the first of its kind as Her Royal Majesty has been championing the initiative for a long while.
The Head of strategy for the Royal Iwere Foundation, said they were practically bridging the gap between the people in the region and the people in the riverine region, as transportation was made available to bring adults and children from the riverine areas for medical attention.
While thanking the project’s lead and coordinator, Dr Otake ovier for ensuring that the beneficiaries were all attended to, he said Her Majesty in her drive for peace coexistence had ensured that those from other tribes, benefit from her kind gesture.
Part of the services rendered were surgeries for persons with fibroid, cataract, abnormal growths, abdominal pains, adding that dental care, pediatric, Laboratory investigation, general medical outpatient care, eye, ear and surgical care were administered to the beneficiaries as there was a well equipped pharmacy at the hospital for the purpose of dispensing of drugs.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of eye glasses, scaling, polishing of teeth, crown replacement, fractured tooth replacements, gifting of toothpaste, toothbrushes, ear drops, eye drops.
