The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshimili South Local Government Area has taken a significant step to strengthen its communication machinery with the inauguration of its Media Team.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the party secretariat in Asaba, brought together party leaders, media practitioners, and other stakeholders.
In his keynote address, the Chairman of the party, Ogbueshi Dada Okolo, also known as Igwe Omenife, emphasized the importance of accuracy, professionalism, and fairness in the discharge of duties by the Media Team members.
He stressed that the team has a critical role to play in promoting the party’s image and unity, and urged them to carry out their responsibilities without fear or favour.
Ogbueshi Okolo commended the team for their remarkable contributions in promoting party activities and urged them to sustain the tempo.
He advised members to remain unbiased in their reporting, emphasizing that the APC is one indivisible entity that must be projected positively at all times.
He also cautioned media practitioners, particularly those working with political aspirants, to desist from criticizing fellow aspirants, noting that such actions could create unnecessary divisions within the party.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, also addressed the gathering, encouraging the Media Team to maintain their commitment to effective communication in Oshimili South. He pledged his continued support to enhance their operations, emphasizing the importance of a strong and united party.
The highlight of the event was the formal inauguration of the APC Media Team, alongside the presentation of branded aprons and caps to members for proper identification. This gesture was seen as a symbol of the party’s commitment to supporting its media team and recognizing their critical role in promoting the party’s agenda.
