A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Churchill Botu has described the victory of Hon Julius Pondi at the National Assembly of February 25 as the voice of the people based on enviable track record of service and people driven representation.
Hon. Botu,a Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Project Monitoring said the votes of Hon.Julius Pondi was a clear evidence that he had touched the lives of the people positively with quality representation at the green chambers.
He said Hon.Julius Pondi who polled 11,863 votes to beat his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress APC who polled 5,469 and won 10 out of the 11 federal wards had attracted several programmes and projects from the federal government to the Burutu Federal Constituency aside his yearly football competition and empowerment programmes.
Hon.Botu, a two time Councillor and former aspirant under the platform of the PDP for the Burutu 1 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly seat in 2019 expressed the hope that Hon.Julius Pondi will continue to put the people first as he had always done by giving them quality and effective representation garnished with various forms of empowerment as well as his voice being always heard on debates and initiation of Bills on the floor of the House.
Hon.Botu who said the victory of Hon.Julius Pondi was a vote of confidence on him by the people for living up to expectations added that the electoral partnership will yield better fruits for the people as the PDP had once again shown that it was the only dominant party in the area.
He thanked the people of Burutu Federal Constituency for standing by the PDP and Hon. Julius Pondi to return him to the green chambers for the third consecutive time and being the first to achieve the feat thereby making history.
On the forthcoming March 11 governorship and House of Assembly elections,the former Councillor appealed to Deltans to vote for Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori for governor and other candidates of the PDP in order to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy and not fall for the political antics of the opposition parties.
