Senator Ned Munir Nwoko has drawn parallels between the people of China and Nigeria, noting their shared values of resilience, hard work, adventure, and adaptability.
The lawmaker made the observation during a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Abuja on Tuesday, where he accompanied his wife, Mrs. Laila Charani Nwoko, Chief Executive Officer of MNS Travel & Tours Ltd, on an official visit to the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency YU Dunhai.
Senator Nwoko described the Chinese as a people with a deep spirit of adventure and strong work ethic, noting that their ability to integrate and thrive in different parts of the world, including Nigeria, mirrors the enterprising character of Nigerians, especially the Igbo people.
“The Chinese are everywhere, even in Delta State. They have an incredible ability to integrate and excel wherever they go. That spirit is similar to what we have among Nigerians, particularly the Igbo, who are industrious, resilient, and willing to explore opportunities anywhere”, he remarked.
Ambassador Dunhai, in his response, acknowledged the similarities between the Chinese and Nigerians, particularly their shared values of resilience, entrepreneurship, and hard work.
