Responding to the moderator of the panel on “Enhance Peace and Security of the M.O.R.E Agenda”, the Hon. Commissioner said “When we came into office, we felt that it is important we approach all our issues in the Ministry of Youth Development scientifically, this is because there is no other better way to approach our issues scientifically without a policy for the ministry”.
“The solution you are asking for is capsulated in the youth policy of the Ministry of youth Development” .
“This Youth policy is tagged the M.O.R.E (YD) E 7 series which the Ministry intends to drive through 2023 to 2027, secondly, what we are addressing is the issue of data management in our ministry”.
“As I’m sitting down here, we are mining all areas from the police end, the NDLEA, to the Prisons, because we want to see what our baselines are in terms of the numbers of youths that are involved in various crimes and violent activities in the state.
” This will serve as a baseline upon which we will now develop our Key Performance Indicator (KPI), move on from there and attend to the issues raised”.
Most significantly, it will interest you to know that in this M.O.R.E (YD) E7 Series there is the component of Engagement which is the fourth thematic area, then the sixth thematic area tagged easing of crime and social vices.
