A total of 340 students from various institutions of higher learning across the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency have qualified for the 2026 Monday Onyeme Foundation Scholarship Scheme.
The students emerged successful after participating in the qualifying aptitude test conducted over the weekend at Utagba-Ogbe Technical College, Kwale, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The 340 successful candidates are part of the 860 students who have so far qualified for the 2026 scholarship scheme across the three Federal Constituencies of Delta North.
The aptitude test was organised across constituencies, with candidates from Ika North East and Ika South scheduled for the University of Delta, Agbor; candidates from Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani taking the test at Utagba Ogbe Technical College, Kwale; while candidates from Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South were scheduled for Dennis Osadebe University, Asaba.
The foundation’s official website also lists the 2026 shortlisted candidates and confirms the continuation of its scholarship programme.
The initiative is expected to ease the financial burden of higher education on beneficiary families while encouraging young people to remain committed to their academic pursuits.
The foundation has, over the years, maintained its focus on education as a major tool for empowering young people and contributing to human-capital development in Delta State. Earlier editions of the scheme have also produced hundreds of beneficiaries, including 218 undergraduates who received scholarships in 2022.
Sir Onyeme, who personally supervised the conduct and marking of the examination, announced the successful candidates and disclosed that each beneficiary would receive N200,000.
He added that the first, second and third overall positions would attract additional prizes of N400,000, N350,000 and N300,000 respectively.
According to him, the overall top scorer from each of the three Federal Constituencies in Delta North would receive an additional N200,000, while the second and third positions would attract extra prizes of N150,000 and N100,000 respectively.
In the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Agenu Miracle from Ukwuani emerged first with 51 marks.
Agenu Junior and Enemuwe Chioma tied for second position, while Enemuwe Ososam and Idowu Feyisayo jointly occupied third position with 50 marks.
Speaking with newsmen after the examination, the top scorer, Agenu Miracle, expressed appreciation to Sir Monday Onyeme and the foundation for providing the scholarship opportunity.
She said the aptitude test was not only an avenue for students to benefit financially but also encouraged them to take their academic pursuits more seriously by studying and concentrating on their education.
