High Chief Chris Agbobu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Aniocha South Local Government Chairman, Emmanuel Sorokwu, describing his passing as a painful loss to the people of Aniocha South and Delta State.
In a condolence message issued by the ASG Media Team, Agbobu extended his heartfelt sympathies to the late politician’s family, friends, political associates, and supporters, saying the news of Sorokwu’s demise came as a profound shock.
He noted that the former council chairman was a committed grassroots politician who distinguished himself through selfless public service, community development, and unwavering dedication to democratic ideals.
According to Agbobu, Sorokwu served the people of Aniocha South with diligence, sincerity, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of his constituents during his tenure as chairman. He added that even after leaving office, the late politician remained actively involved in political affairs, mentoring younger leaders and contributing to the growth of democratic governance.
Reflecting on their relationship, Agbobu described Sorokwu as a dependable leader whose loyalty, courage, and passion for service never wavered. He said the late former chairman was admired for his calm disposition, respectful nature, and ability to unite people across political and community divides.
While lamenting that Sorokwu’s death has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill, Agbobu expressed confidence that the late politician’s legacy of service and leadership would continue to inspire future generations.
He prayed for God to grant the bereaved family, friends, and supporters the strength and fortitude to bear the loss, while also asking for divine mercy upon the soul of the deceased.
“May Almighty God forgive his shortcomings, accept his soul into His eternal kingdom, and grant him everlasting rest. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen,” Agbobu said.
