The Delta State Commissioner for Housing, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, has called on members of the City Boy Movement (CBM) in Burutu Local Government Area to begin grassroots mobilisation well ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that sustained engagement with the people is essential for electoral success.
Angele made the call on Saturday while receiving the Burutu LGA chapter of the City Boy Movement, led by its Federal Constituency Director, Prince Churchill Botu, during a familiarisation visit to his residence in Effurun.
The commissioner commended the group for its unwavering commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its determination to work for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates in the 2027 polls.
He urged members to strengthen the movement’s structures from the constituency down to the ward and unit levels, noting that effective political mobilisation should begin long before election periods rather than waiting until campaigns commence.
Angele also accepted the position of Overall Leader of the City Boy Movement in Burutu Local Government Area, expressing appreciation for the confidence reposed in him. He assured the delegation of his full support and pledged to provide the necessary backing to ensure the success of the movement’s programmes and activities across the local government.
Earlier, Prince Churchill Botu said the visit was to familiarise the commissioner with the movement’s activities and inform him of its planned tour across Burutu LGA. He appealed for the commissioner’s participation and financial support, while formally presenting him with the leadership role in recognition of his contributions to the party and the local government.
