…As DTSG Sets To Construct 16km To Mbiri Farm Settlement

In keeping with the MORE Agenda of the Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori administration , the Delta State government has said that it is resolved to ensure the food security of the state as well as position it as the food hub of the nation.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Barr. Perez Omoun Esq. disclosed this to journalists, during an inspection visit to one of the Green House projects at Mbiri farm settlement in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

While lauding the project as a worthwhile one that would ensure all round food production in the state, the Commissioner said with the quick intervention of the state government, the farm settlement which has been in existence before the creation of the state, would be revived.

Hon. Omoun assured that within six months some short term harvestable food items grown at the greenhouse would be ready for harvesting.

Speaking further, he said the the as his ministry was saddled with the responsibility of providing food for all Deltans, he would ensure that the Ministry would live up to its responsibility and called on staff to support the vision.

The Agric Commissioner also promised to ensure that the feeder road of about 16km leading to the farm settlement be fixed to enhance accessibility for farmers to their farms.
