The Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has called on Nigerians to remain committed to the ideals of democracy, good governance, and national unity as the country commemorates the 2026 Democracy Day.
In a goodwill message marking the occasion, Senator Amori joined the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in celebrating the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic journey, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of heroes whose struggles laid the foundation for the nation’s democratic advancement.
He described June 12 as a significant reminder of the collective responsibility of all Nigerians to strengthen democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and work together towards building a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.
“June 12 reminds us of our collective responsibility to strengthen democratic values, promote good governance, and work together for national progress,” Amori stated.
The Chief Adviser also offered prayers for God’s continued guidance and wisdom upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, JP, and other leaders across the country as they continue to steer the affairs of the nation.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to experience lasting peace, economic growth, and expanded opportunities for all citizens, stressing that the country’s democracy must continue to grow stronger for the benefit of future generations.
Senator Amori urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, noting that sustained commitment to democratic principles, patriotism, and peaceful coexistence remains essential to achieving the nation’s collective aspirations.
