The Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI), Delta State Chapter, has announced its official registration and recognition by the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment and development across the state.
The recognition was granted through Certificate No. 0423, dated 14th April, 2026, affirming YAI Delta State Chapter as a recognized youth organization operating under the supervision and guidelines of the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of YAI Delta State Chapter, Comr. Samuel Feghaowei Johnny, described the recognition as a call to greater service and renewed commitment to the advancement of young people across Delta State.
He stated that the initiative is committed to advancing 5,000 Delta youths across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state through programmes and initiatives that align with the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.
According to him, the organization will focus on promoting youth inclusiveness, leadership development, capacity building, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and community participation.
As part of its expansion drive, the Youth Advancement Initiative has announced a Call for 25 Local Government Area Coordinators. Passionate and committed Delta youths who are willing to serve their communities and contribute to youth development are encouraged to indicate their interest and join the movement.
”The work starts now,” Comr. Johnny emphasized, adding that the success of the Initiative depends on the collective efforts of young people who are ready to champion positive change in their respective local government areas.
The Youth Advancement Initiative reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders, government institutions, development partners, and community leaders to promote sustainable youth development and create opportunities that will positively impact the lives of thousands of young people across Delta State.
