James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, has obtained the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu in preparation for the 2027 presidential election.
On Tuesday in Abuja, the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, officially opened the process and handed over the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to James Faleke, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke, who collected and paid for the forms valued at N100 million on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, has effectively marked the beginning of the President’s re-election campaign.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also fixed the timetable for party primaries and related dispute resolution, which will take place between April 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026.
According to the commission, campaigns for the Presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while campaigns for the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are expected to start on September 9, 2026.
