The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation after a parcel containing two live rounds of ammunition was delivered to the residence of the Managing Director of First Bank of Nigeria, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.
The suspicious package, which was addressed to the bank’s Managing Director, was intercepted after officials discovered its unusual contents during routine handling. Security personnel immediately alerted law enforcement authorities, who responded by securing the area and taking custody of the parcel for forensic examination.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, is yet to confirm whether the parcel was intended as a threat or part of a wider criminal plot, security agencies have assured the public that every necessary step is being taken to uncover the circumstances surrounding the delivery.
Tijani Fatai said the parcel was delivered on May 7, 2026, and was received by a security guard at Alebiosu’s residence in Ikoyi before being handed over to him.
According to the police commissioner, Alebiosu discovered two live 7.62mm rounds of ammunition inside the package after opening it. The parcel reportedly contained no letter, message, or information identifying the sender.
Fatai described the incident as a serious matter and said investigations are ongoing to determine those responsible.
