” If something that makes you beautiful is taken away from you, that beauty will go. Senator Ned Nwoko is a decoration to Aniocha North, Senator Nwoko is something that is precious to all of us.” — Hon. Samuel Ekene Kerry

As Senator Ned Nwoko concludes his consultations ahead of the APC primaries for the Delta North Senatorial ticket, one thing has become increasingly clear, his approach to politics remains remarkably different from the conventional style many have become accustomed to.

In a political environment where aspirants often abandon legislative responsibilities to personally lead endless consultations and negotiations, Senator Ned Nwoko chose a more strategic and forward-thinking path.

Rather than leaving his duties at the Senate, Senator Ned entrusted the responsibility of leading consultations across the nine local government areas of Delta North to the Director-General of his campaign council, Hon. Samuel Ekene Kerry.

That singular decision speaks volumes about the Senator’s confidence in youth leadership, delegation, and the future of Anioma politics.

While critics attempted to misrepresent the move, many politically conscious stakeholders saw something entirely different, a leader secure enough in his popularity and performance to empower a younger generation to carry his message directly to the people.

Indeed, the Senate does not pause because elections are approaching. Legislative responsibilities continue, national engagements continue, and representation continues. Senator Ned Nwoko clearly understands that leadership is not about abandoning duty for optics, but about building capable structures that can effectively communicate vision and progress.

The emergence of Hon. Ekene Kerry at the forefront of these consultations therefore became symbolic.

Young, articulate, energetic, and politically grounded, Kerry brought a commanding presence to the consultations across Delta North. His oratory, confidence, and direct engagement with stakeholders reinforced the image of Senator Ned Nwoko as a politician deliberately nurturing a new generation of leadership within Anioma nation.

Beyond his personal qualities, Kerry’s political roots also carry strategic significance.

As an indigene of Ika North-East Local Government Area — the same LGA as Senator Ned Nwoko’s challenger, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa — his leadership role within the campaign sends a powerful political message about shifting loyalties and changing sentiments within the district.

It also reflects Senator Ned’s ability to build bridges across political and local divides based on conviction rather than old patronage structures.

Importantly, Hon. Ekene Kerry is not politically unknown. As the son of the respected former female senator, Mrs E.L. Kerry, he represents both political heritage and emerging leadership combined in one figure.

Through this consultation process, Senator Ned Nwoko has once again demonstrated that politics can evolve beyond the traditional model where leadership revolves around one individual alone.

His style increasingly reflects modern political thinking — empowering competent younger voices, sustaining active representation while campaigning, and building structures capable of surviving beyond immediate elections.

For many across Delta North, this may well be one of the strongest arguments for his re-election.

At a time when Anioma politics is seeking fresh energy, broader participation, and a new direction, Senator Ned Nwoko appears determined not only to represent the people, but also to prepare the next generation to lead them.
